Hey guys! So Toronto was amazing, and i made lots of new friends. When i got home, i realized i didnt have my sash! Ooops! The next thing i knew my roomate Cassandra told me she had packed it in her bag by accident. So i havnt been blogging because i've had no events to do, because i have no sash! But thats okay, i'll have it soon enough!
So this past week as you all know, was Miss Teen Canada World. Of coarse i wanted to become Miss Teen Canada, but that wasnt why i was there. I wanted to show all girls, you dont have to be small to be beautiful. You can be any shape any size and still be beautiful. Jennifer Valentyne, asked me why i wanted to be Miss Teen Canada, and i was honest, i want to change the stareo type. Check this out, and see what i mean. http://blogs.bttoronto.ca/jennifer/miss-teen-canada#comments
Have you ever seen two more beautiful faces? These little girls are full of eagernes, happiness and a future full of promise. Some people may wonder how I come to this conclusion, its simple really, look at their surroundings, these little girls are in a class room receiving an education.
In third world countries it is not unusal for parents not to educate little girls. Girls are considered in many of these countries to be (if you would like to put it in a nice way), second class citizens and not worthy of education as they will only be working at home or in the fields. This is where Free The Children comes in. This organization brings schools, amongst other things, into communities to educate “all” the children, regardless of gender, social standing, or ability to pay.
Yes in many countries parents are expected to pay for their childrens education and many in these struggling countries can not. Free The Children knows the importance of a good education and it's direct connection with poverty. Through an education these little girls will be able to do so many things, perhaps we are looking at a future teacher, doctor, lawyer, entenpenour, nurse, the world just opened up to these two little girls and the future is looking good.
I see many things when I look at this picture but thanks toFree The Children the biggest thing I see is hope for a better future.
Its not every day you come across a baby blue jay in the middle of the road! On monday Iwas travelling home and as my mom and I were in Hampton we saw something to be in the the middle of the road. When we came up beside it, it turned out to be a baby blue jay. My mom is a huge animal lover and didn't want him to get more injured. So she got out of the car and picked him up. We kept him in a cage over night. Tonight we took him up to the field up the road from us and opened the cage. He hopped out and didn't seem like he wanted to fly. My mom once again picked him up and once she stood up, he took off! I guess he need a bit of encouragement. Like flying out of a nest!

Well i woke up this morning and it was raining outside. And its Sunday, so no pageant things to do! I was woundering what i was going to do today. Well it doesnt help that there is two really competitive people in the house. Me and my dad! So we got the sports game for the wii and put it in. I thought i was pretty good for tennis, but not against my dad. He kicked my but, all five games! And than we played golf! I was winning, but being my dad he had to beat me! But i did get a hole in one!
I'm still raising money for the pageant! My parents want to see how much i can raise on my own. So yesterday, i stood outside the local Save Easy and sold tickets on baskets. Some companys, instead of giving me money, they gave me gist certificates, me and my mom thought we would put them all in a basket and just raffle the hole thing off. And Sobeys, donated a basket to us to sell tickets on.
This morning i had to be up bright and early do go serve at the church breakfast. My family has become vey active in the church, and goes to help out at every event. As Miss Teen Kings County, Marian (the minister) ask for me to make an apperance, so i did. I was cleaning the tables off, and a man said he knew my dad but he just couldnt remeber my name. so i introduced myself, and than he told me we were related. I was suprised by this but when i turned around, he introduced me to the rest of his family that i was related to! I didn't even know these people, but now i do!
Every year in the fall we have horses come from the barn. The horses stay home all winter and go back out to the barn in february. And since we live in the country and own lots of feilds, we hay them. Today was the start of haying season. Its supposed to be nice for the next couple of days, so this afternoon my dad went down to the feild to start cutting it. When i got home, my mom sent me down on the 4 wheeler to go give him some food. He ate it up and got right back to work!
Baling
Yesterday afternoon, July 10, we started to bail. Deffinitly the hardest part! I got to practice my driving skills though. My mom let me drive the big truck down in the feild. We had lots of dificulties with the bailer last night, but it finally started working, and we got everything bailed, but after that, we had to put it all in the barn. Not fun!
